BUTUAN CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
BCES | The School of Technologically Advanced Learners
The Butuan Central Elementary School has been serving Butuan City school children since 1901. Being the largest school in Caraga Administrative Region, BCES has established itself as the institution of learning with about 16, 800 square meters of land area. Since its inception, it has been the show-window of the Division because of the undying support of all the parents, guardians, private sectors and all its stakeholders with the remarkable effort of the proactive teachers and administrators. To touch the lives of thousands of children, mold their minds, cultivate their hearts and reinforce values for a life-long learning experience. School physical improvements, awards received and recognitions are the living testimonies of the school’s endeavor to reach the best for our pupils. Working harmoniously with our partners in both public and private sectors towards a culture of excellence is our guide and support in all challenges ahead.
BCES is an inclusive school wherein children with varied learning capabilities are welcomed with preference to the children coming from the 10 Service Barangays. The presence of special children mainstreamed in regular classes or curriculum are living evidence that the school caters different kinds of children in all walks of life. Thus, their needs must be addressed efficiently. Records show that majority of the pupils are coming from other barangays and even outside Butuan City.
Presently, Butuan Central Elementary School has two (2) programs, first the BCES Regular classes from Grades I-VI , in which Grade I-III have two sessions; morning and afternoon while Grades IV-VI have whole day classes. Second is the Science and Technology Education Center ( STEC ) from Grades IV with two sections and a maximum of forty pupils respectively.
